Re: Rip Ted Fenton Funeral today (Thursday)
Just for the record the wreath cost £120 out of the WHO fund and as MPI said how touched the family were by the floral tribute. It may seem a small gesture sending flowers but it is so well recieved when we do this. On your behalf I have sent flowers to Australia, USA and all over the UK, the impact it has on the families, to see a wreath with the west ham badge on is worth it's weight in gold. Thanks to MPI for attending.

What swindon said... spot on that man!

Every time somebody posts that WHO 'should be scrapped', I think of posts like this one and realise how utterly wrong they are...

WHO is as much a part of the West Ham dna as the people who post on here. FACT.

Nice touch lads, great to hear the family appreciated our love for Steve. I will raise a beer to Ted tonight with a few tears in my eyes. God Bless Steve, I know you will be reading this from somewhere.

Re: Rip Ted Fenton Funeral today (Thursday)
MPI,

Thanks for the update.

The Flowers look great.

It sounds like Steve/Ted had a nice send off and once again condolences to his family and friends.

I know some of the disagreements on this site get a bit out of hand and personal at times but the good of this site still outweighs the bad and this thread confirms that.

RIP Steve/Ted

Re: Rip Ted Fenton Funeral today (Thursday)
Gents,

Just got back and WHO can be proud of itself for quite a few reasons:

1) The Flowers were very well received, and the family were genuinely touched.
2) This thread. The family 'know what we can be like, so opened this with a certain trepidation initially but that quickly turned to pride and comfort from the lovely words and how well regarded Ted was.
3) I don't think many of us really knew how ill he had become and even when largely house bound WHO kept him connected and happy.
4) Now this one made me laugh. The amount of Steves age group peers I talked to who Steve had introduced to WHO many who didnt post but certainly found it amusing/interesting/educational was a big surprise, I didn't know many people but as soon as I talked to them They would immediately understand that I was the West Ham website guy or the WHO friend, it seems that everyone who knew and loved Steve, knew he loved WHO.

The service was, non denominational, very family, music and West Ham orientated and Bubbles was played at the end. First funeral I have been to in the last decade where I knew the words to the song :-)

So there you have it, hold your heads high and your pints higher because you did right by a lovely man and a dyed in the wool Hammer.

IRONS!!!
